John Sild is the 2017-2018 Chairman of the Sherman Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, having joined in 2014. He graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Business Administration in Marketing/Management. John has over three decades of management experience, beginning as General Manager at Day Manufacturing in Sherman from 1990-1996, Operations Manager at Stahl Metal Works in Durant from 1996-1998, and owner of Lakewood Marketing from 1998-2000. In 2000, he joined CS Week in Sherman, where John has served as Conference Director for the premier customer service/IT-focused utility conference in North America for seventeen years.
He holds memberships in the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE) and NUiG. John is also the owner of Site-Scape Landscape and Irrigation in Sherman. He concurrently manages a staff of 18 employees engaged in residential and commercial landscape maintenance. John is a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Sherman, where he is active in multiple ministries.
He currently serves on the Board of Texoma Christian School. Married for 29 years, John and his wife Renea have two daughters, Kathryn, currently a graduate student at Baylor University, and Caroline, a freshman at Dallas Baptist University.
