The Sherman Economic Development Corp. has a number of events planned for next week as the organization holds its first Economic Development Week.
The celebration coincides with the International Economic Development Council’s National Economic Development Week, which was created to raise awareness of local programs that create jobs, increase quality of life and further career development opportunities. SEDCO will be making appreciation presentations to 22 local industries throughout the week and will hold an Economic Development Week celebration at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom Tuesday afternoon.
“We’ve got a big week scheduled for next week,” SEDCO board Chairman Greg Kirkpatrick said to the Sherman City Council on Monday. “And I can assure you we’ve got a great staff down at SEDCO, and we’re swinging for the fences week in and week out trying to make something happen.”
