A pair of local economic development professionals were recently awarded the Certified Economic Developer designation by the International Economic Development Council.
Sherman Economic Development Corp. Vice President of Business Retention & Expansion Stacey Jones and Denison Development Alliance Vice President of Economic Development William Myers were each recently awarded the CEcD designation after passing a two-day examination done in three parts in Washington, D.C. The exam tested judgment, proficiency and knowledge in different areas of economic development. A press release on the designation said the CEcD is a national recognition that shows “a mastery of principal skills in economic development, professional attainment and a commitment to professional growth.”
